History of Chez Bernard Beauty Academy
Established in 1986, Chez Bernard Beauty Academy has been steadfast in maintaining its excellent reputation as one of, if not the best cosmetology school in The Province of New Brunswick. The Academy has managed to reinvent itself, through the years to keep up with the ever changing demands of the Fashion and style industry, not to mention the ever changing job market and employer demands throughout the province.
The latest reincarnation of Chez Bernard has seen the most recent owner, former Student and Teacher, Mrs. Sonia Leblanc-Silliker, relocate the school to the ever expanding area of Dieppe, near the Greater Moncton International Airport. The new school has doubled in size, and can accommodate up to 48 students. With 5 licensed instructors on staff there is never a lack of one on one time between students and teachers.
Chez Bernard Beauty Academy has also established itself as an asset to the community in the volunteer work they do. In recent years Chez Bernard students have been called upon to style hair for the Miss New Brunswick and Miss Teen New Brunswick pageants and Maritime Idol, a local talent search not unlike Canadian Idol. They have also been very helpful with several local high school drama organizations by volunteering to do their hair before their annual productions.
The Students of Chez Bernard speak highly of their school and a testament to that is the fact that 3 of the Instructors are former students. They hope to carry on the tradition of producing talented well trained hairstylists for the Cosmetology industry. That is why we can proudly say that Chez Bernard Beauty Academy has “…the Trend Setters of today preparing Hairstylists for Tomorrow!!”
