Cosmetology Program Outline

The cosmetology course is designed to ensure students are taught all aspects of the beauty care field. This course is maintained and regulated by CANB (Cosmetology Association of New Brunswick), and runs for a total of 1600 hours, or 43 weeks. After Completion of the course, students will be licensed hairstylists under the rules and regulations of CANB. All course details can be found below.

Tuition Payment Information 2025-2026

Tuition for students at Chez Bernard Beauty Academy’s cosmetology program is $13 300.00 (Canadian funds) for the full year (43 weeks/1600 hrs.) There is a $300 confirmation fee to be paid before the beginning of the school year to hold their place.  The $300 deposit is non refundable and is not included in the total tuition.

There is a student fee of $960.00 which includes the student’s license and exam fees with the Cosmetology Association of New Brunswick, Protection fee with the Province of New Brunswick, photo for student ID and registration with Chez Bernard Beauty Academy and also includes a $10.00 fee for the Health Plan with Medavie Blue Cross.

The students are required to purchase a “Student Kit” which includes all necessary text, literature and materials to complete the prescribed curriculum. The Student Kit is valued at $3 000.00. This brings the total student investment to $17 260.00. Black shoes are required and are an additional personal cost to the students not included in the tuition.

Additional Items Added

- Industry specialists often come in to show their unique techniques and share their experiences with students to give them a better grasp on what the industry is like.

- The academy helps get students on job training, so that when they graduate, they are workforce ready, professional, and skilled.

- The academy provides a toolkit baked into the tuition cost to ensure every student has the materials they need to be successful within the course

- The academy provides high level, regulated training that gives students the chance to learn in a safe enviroment.
